In-person class

Story Makers: Scarecrow Friends (Grades K–1)

$30.00

A cozy autumn class for emerging writers. We’ll read The Scarecrow by Beth Ferry, a rhyming story about a lonely scarecrow and the little crow who becomes his friend. Then we’ll bring the story to life with our hands.

What we’ll do

  • Play a rhyming game to warm up our ears
  • Build and decorate a personalized scarecrow, great for strengthening the small hand muscles children use for writing
  • Make a friendship card for someone special, then address and “mail” it in its own envelope

Every child writes at their own level: a drawing, a traced name, or a few inventive-spelling words. We celebrate it all, because confidence comes before correctness.
